What kind of severance package one should expect if unfortunately laid off, due to business downturn? I'm thinking full-time engineer based in the US (Wilmington), for n number of years.
I am curious on what basis (criteria) they chose the people to get laid off.
I was affected by the layoff, I am not able to figure out what could be the reason they chose me. My manager and her manager did not have any idea about it. My manager gave me exceeds expectation in performance review, awarded RSUs, was awarded with a bronze award for exceptional performance in a project.
Funny thing is, ADI stock is at new all-time highs o.O
No rhyme or reason with the layoff criteria
Legacy-Maxim EDA in Dallas was also impacted
During town hall Vince mentioned 6 month runway. If orders don’t start coming in, expect another round of layoffs this summer.
We’ll have an indication based on if they push raises out. If raises get delayed, get ready for more cost cutting.
Will there be another round? When?
- 5% of the company was laid off.
But also seeing several folks getting promotions or new hires. They say economic but if you ask HR it’s 2030 strategy focused. 45 days to accept your severance, want to negotiate you’ll need to hire a lawyer.
I was laid off back in 2020 in central Europe during the difficult covid times. They had no mercy, all was done silently and rapidly. It is a pity for a company that used to be a nice place to be, as far as many old guys told me. It is now one of the many organizations you may happen to work for, for how long you never know, they typically have a 3 years cycle time.
I hope they lay me off already and give me my severance. Current planning of the company is a future that's built to fail. It had a good run but under these frugal management and cost reduction planning, I don't see it surviving the next 50 years or let alone 10.
Over for the first round.
I think its over, the mail from CPO says everyone impacted are already notified.
Anyone know how many layoff's in Ireland ?
Has anyone negotiated severance package? Is ADI accepting any negotiations?
Will it be safe to join ADI at this time?
Biden-conomy
So far 20 at my location, but our numbers heavily dipped in the last month anyway. According to HR it will be a revolving situation through the next 2 weeks. They pull you at the start of your shift to let you know. So far there doesn't seem to be any similarities between the individuals who have gone already. It doesn't seem like anyone is safe. Does anyone know if there is a severance package?
Overall how many were impacted in this first round?
Are people still finding out or is it done?
My manager and his manager (in IMM) knew nothing about it. Apparently the entire college recruiting team got canned, which only makes sense if you care about 1 quarter at a time.
I wonder why there is not any media coverage on this, at least I could not find any
Wonder if we will get an all clear message or if we have to live in fear for the foreseeable future
Wasn't just a few departments. Over 500-600 fired from what I heard. Employees in Asia, US and Ireland. Typical Christmas gift from ADI. Stop travel, cut expenses, offer early retirement and then do a layoff. ELT gets there payout while all the workers get fired.
My group got cut too. Bay area
You think legacy maxim layoff is bad… look what happened when ADI bought LTC. Talent laid off and customers along with it. Bean counters in Boston.
Ki-ling all legacy adi folks, toxic culture from
Maxim. Hope ceo is happy now.
A half dozen people in the quality org on the East Coast got cut
I am affected too - at Maxim's side
I am affected by the recent layoff. what is the normal severance package being offered? Can I negotiate?
legacy Maxim is affected...
Can you please share any information on which departments are being affected?
Do you have any insights on which countries are most affected?
Does anyone know how many are impacted?
