Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Well, this is awkward

If the deal doesn’t go through then managers and Hock will have lost all possible leverage and control over those thousands of employees who know they’re getting let go. Time to run out that unlimited PTO?

Broadcom’s motto - STFU and get back to work, or don’t and close the door behind you.

"Broadcom has yet to demonstrate a professional level of communication, and they are failing to keep us informed internally before we receive updates from external sources. "

Grow up. You very literally have no right to know anything before shareholders and the broader market. Being at VMware has convinced you that as an employee you're the most important person in the world. You're not. These are two large public companies so every piece of material information will be learned from internal sources. As it was, as it is, as it will be going forward.

It is truly regrettable to witness the current situation. Broadcom has yet to demonstrate a professional level of communication, and they are failing to keep us informed internally before we receive updates from external sources. Their handling of the acquisition is inadequate, their communication skills are lacking, and it appears they struggle with basic self-sufficiency.
