Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Story of many

DENIED the promotion. So she RESIGNED. The CEO had promised her (all year) a promotion to VP. But then, the hammer FELL. They hired someone from the "outside" and she got passed over. Frustratingly she had enough. She quit caring.

  • She started interviewing IMMEDIATELY.
  • Started networking on LinkedIn to create visibility.
  • Connected with leaders in her field nationwide.
  • Applied for jobs and followed up relentlessly.
  • Asked for job referrals.
  • Practiced for phone and zoom interviews.

She then ACCEPTED a new offer with her company's competitor. Her job search was faster than she had imagined.
But here's the thing, during her 30 day notice her manager called her twice to offer the PROMOTION (again), but it was way too late. She had lost faith in their word.
Losing faith is the last straw.

melodramatic
maybe she should have learned more math

we need to stop bailing out failed companies that hired poorly
and if a company is failing, the folks at the top need to feel the pain the most

No big loss, she shouldn't have been in the job in the first place.

Intel is a company of swindlers. Some prizes during ISMC were never handed out. Who kept them? So much for that.
