Does no offer letter means we will be getting layoff notices from VMware soon? Our team hasn’t received any offer letter from Broadcom & our director is clueless .. what to do next?

Nobody has been laid off. Nobody will be laid off til the close. Those who are being laid off will be told. Until then, carry on.
I think it means you’ll be somebody’s else’s problem
Why are offeres delayed for EUC and CB?
Are they going to be sold off?
No layoff going to happen in EUC and CB?
EUC and CB are delayed. Outside these BUs the letters seem to have all gone out. Some are saying if someone declines then it could open up a spot for another. Maybe someone from CA and Symantec can confirm. My suspicion is that’s an exception to the rule.
The statement was comms on
“ There is another wave of offers next week to make up for this week's elected severances.”
So if VMware has communicated that there are “waves” based on elected severances, show me.
October hasn’t ended.. yes indeed. Two business days left, has “most of the company” recorded the letter. Don’t know, no comms on how many have and haven’t received.
Maybe the deal will be delayed? No comms.
We wait with baited breath. VMware mgmt in my BU is shït.
The best single sentence that VMware leaders should have said was “No comment”.
Simply say over and over again “no comment”.
Instead we get these all hand BS meetings that are just word salads.
Many countries, especially Europe, cannot be communicated anything until AFTER the close is official. US and India always know first and move fast. The rest need to have patience, even months after the close...
What comms?
The “unofficial slack layoff channel”
VMware can’t communicate effectively just like they can run a company effectively.
I'm confused on why you're confused.
VMware said very bluntly weeks ago, and continuously since:
- We are not in control
- Broadcom is making the decisions
- Most of the company will receive letters between mid and late October
- Many won't know after closure
Those all still remain true and active. Nothing has changed. October hasn't ended, so why raise your blood pressure on letters that haven't come when it hasn't even hit the deadline?
My own BU leadership followed up that our process will be slightly different than the rest of VMware and we should not expect any letter until, at the earliest, Monday 30/10. So, clear as water there.
Maybe you could help provide context on what leadership said beyond those points that led to your confusion?
Does anybody know if voluntary reject will entitle a severance for spin-off BUs like CB and EUC? My guess is that they may not allow that since there will be no layoffs in these spin-off BUs at the moment.
Does no one in your team track internal comms? It's plastered everywhere that offers are still underw

Welcome to limbo
Chances are low to be retained.
The longer the deal takes to close, the higher the chance of BC making an offer based to those who did not get a letter A a type of round 2 based on who has accepted/decline the first round of offers.
Then again , maybe no round two.
Welcome to limbo
What the heck !! If someone decline offer then we will get an offer .. that’s pathetic.. our team is full of high performers and no one has offer !!
If other people in your BU got offers but you didn't then you will get a layoff notice from BC after the deal closes.

Probably so, no one wants to hear that but probably so.
If you didn’t get a letter already and you are in one of the geos that was able to send letters out, then you didn’t make the cut or your BU is expected to be sold off at/just after close. Only way you are saved is if you get a spot from someone who declined an offer.
If the deal pushes, everyone will be existing in a state of limbo.
If the deal falls through, it will revert to pre-close VMware, which will be the ultimate shitshow.
“Consider it a blessing you did not get an offer. They would probably can you in six months time with no severance anyway.”
Wrong…if they can you in six months, which is within 12 months of the close, you’ll get 2 months + one week per year
Consider it a blessing you did not get an offer. They would probably can you in six months time with no severance anyway.
I got a leaked email from BC stated that 10/23 were offers from function 10/24 were offers from GTM.
They have 3 days to accept or decline
The only way you get an offer now is if someone declines and you are selected as plan b already in an excel somewhere
Monday we were told is the day but if China delays it will be whenever the transaction closes
I’m in the same situation.. do anyone know what is happening?
