If VMware used the time and energy spent on EPIC2 on customer value maybe Dell wouldn't have sold them off to Hock...

Well, yeah. EPIC2 values mean I am sitting at home, enjoying today's bonus, catching up on work while finishing off a beer. Not getting pi---d and venting on web sites. Values are treating me real good my man.
I get it, everybody is frustrated. I am too.
However, what do values have to do with any of this?
Obviously, the deal is rocky because of SAMR/China/geopolitics/global war of authoritarianism vs liberal democracies, etc, etc.
So what would you expect the leaders to do here, realistically?
I get it that silence is 'bad'. But saying sh-t that isn't true isn't good either.
You want the truth? I think you know the truth. They don't want to tell us too much because of legal reasons, I'm sure. If they could tell us more without negative legal or financial consequences, I'm sure they would.
So as much as we all love to blame 'the man' and maybe it makes feel us better a little bit, but in reality, I doubt it.
The only epic values they have are the $$$$$$$$$$$$ they are getting out of screwing thousands over.
