I said it here before. Quiet quitting - the best way. Do minimum of less than minimum and FckUP!

Ok I am in te&y across the river from Omaha ne. I’ve been around a few years and I’ve never seen guys jump ship like I’ve seen here the last year. Can’t say I blame them, this place is where railroad careers go to dye aka die. If you are a young millennial don’t bother to apply at this location it will grind you up and sp-t you out. It’s like 1940’s railroading without claims being paid and a hiring pay rate of 75%. These guys are exiting and more are on their way. Can anyone guess what glorious yard I’m referring to? It’s referred to as the armpit of the RR!

I’ve seriously thought about it. I hate what UP has become. I use to like my job, been on 15 years. Now I’m just aiming for 20. The way it looks I’ll be competing with other furloughed employees trying to get on other rail roads. I have no problem moving. My wife and I both just simply want to purchase a home but aren’t comfortable with the crazy PSR money grab Vena. Had 25 under me prior to PSR, now only 4. UP management has a lot of lip service for the media, it’s just a marketing ploy. They don’t care about the employees and they have the nerve to brag about pay and benefits, the unions had to fight for that, not UP. Now we have a political shareholder push of the ESG score. Black rock is the cancer of the US middle class.

I left less than a year ago after working for UP for 11 years. It was a great decision. Will I miss some the retirement. Yes, but with all the stress UP put me through, probably wouldn't enjoy retirement for long if I even made it to it.

Unless you have a good job lined up DON’T QUIT…. Make them furlough you and Collect unemployment, it costs the company money when you collect unemployment AND you’ve also paid into it, so you might as well take some time off and get some of you’re money back
