Everyone says nothing's changing and business as usual. But looks like folks have been laid off silently. More to come?

Based on last year’s layoffs: The severance standard seems to be 2 months + 2 weeks per year.
Cobra is mandated by national law to allow 12 months of coverage on the same insurance plan. NI may continue to pay their portion for the full 12 months. So continuing insurance could be more affordable than some other employers.
No payout on sick/vacation/PTO is expected.
From what I’ve gathered HR and Austin IT are impacted greatly. Most likely all Austin based labor has a risk as they are considered “expensive” in the global market. Looking at the Emerson job postings you can get a feel for the type of jobs posted in the US. We’re all replaceable in the end.
Expect 1 week notice from our benevolent rulers.
The fact that they won't tell us anything makes me thing the layoffs will reach 50% or more.
Details on severance and how many?
Any details on quantity of impact is also helpful.
Any details on severance would be great to know.
Sh-t is hitting the fan today. Hopefully the package is decent.
There is no transparency whatsoever. I have completely lost trust in the leadership. They expect business as usual while everyone eagerly waits to hear if they get to retain their job.
Assume there are two reasons: inflation and acquisition of NI.
The usual routine begins, X% of our colleagues will be gone around christmas. Expect the same old QnA:
Who all impacted? - wont reveal (you connect the dots. Random people will stop responding to your emails, which means they are laid off)
How many impacted? - wont reveal
What was the criteria for layoff? - wont reveal
What is the severance? - wont reveal (but trust us, it is the best)
What about their out placement? - wont reveal (but trust us, it is the best)
Will we adjust our 2024 plan due to reduction? - ofcourse we will (haha do you really think so?)
What are you planning to do to regain employee trust? - lots of stuff (i.e we send out surveys and not really care about the actual sentiment. We provide a handbook of corporate word salad to managers and (use it on them! Bazinga!). We create sharepoint sites that we know no one will look at. Just put your blind faith in us, while we lead you into a disaster)
Not so silent anymore the good news is we’ve got a whole month now to worry and be productive to help ensure the company is operating at the highest possible profitability.
Two rounds of layoffs. People to be notified Nov 3 - Nov 6 and Dec 7 - Dec 8. No word on number impacted or departments targeted.
