Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Job search

It’s been three months since my last day at BBB. Is anyone else having trouble finding a new job. I’ve done so many interviews and I’ve been getting the feedback that they don’t want to hire someone who worked at BBB because of the bankruptcy. It wasn’t my fault that they failed. So frustrating.

I didn’t have a problem. I actually got scooped up before we closed for a store manager position. I was ops at BBB and worked there for 16 yrs. I turned down the SM position but as soon as I posted my resume, I had 3 offers within a week. I took a step down to move into a new position in hope of advancement and that happened in 6 months. I’m now a DM for a big box retailer. BBB su-ked at noticing good people and the pay they deserve.

The job market just plain su-ks right now. I was laid off from my employer in July and it took me 2 solid months to find something.

Two words: Seasonal Help
Get in now & take it from there. There's got to be retail stores hiring in your area.

Are these management positions, or regular hourly?

Have you applied at the new bed bath & beyond?

Not the reason. But if you were there a long time doing the same thing with their outdated tech and procedures that could definitely be an issue.

Yeah… that’s not the reason.

Because of bankruptcy? Going to say that isn't the reason.
