Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Severance and un-vested RSUs

What happens to the un-vested RSUs when you're offered a severance/layoff?

On the contrary:

What happens to your original vesting schedule of your existing RSUs from VMware if you're given an offer?

Also:
If you're given a transitional role, do you get severance if you decline the offer?

All these questions have been answered numerous times, and have been available in FAQ’s available for months. Unvested VMware RSU’s convert to BC RSU’s if you accept an offer and follow existing vesting schedule. Any unvested RSU’s you have are zeroed out if you are let go, unless you have a provision that a % vests upon termination (most recent rsu grants included this language).

Your original VMW RSUs will be worthless if the vest date is after the transaction closes, because VMW will have ceased to exist. You can attempt to negotiate for BC RSUs to replace them.

As far as I can tell (this is not legal advice) if you turn down the transitional role, you do not get severance.
