Another round of layoff took place at Sonos in Aug, 2024.
Many affected in all areas of Sonos.

CEO and upper management should be held responsible for poor performance and management.
Google is bleeding money from Sonos. Sonos has lost all the cases with stupid lawyers they hired for millions of dollars. More layoffs to fight the lawsuit on Google.

But for the executive staff and upper management it won’t matter because they will have put enough money in their greedy pockets.

Definitely, managers manipulated the reviews for few of them. They got with lawyers to make sure they don’t get sued. Mix old and young engineers in the RIF list.

Harvard Business Review says short-term cost savings provided by a layoff are overshadowed by bad publicity, loss of knowledge, weakened engagement, higher voluntary turnover, and lower innovation — all of which hurt profits in the long run.

Was performance the main criteria for the recent Nov 16 layoff ?. This is the second round of layoffs after the 7% layoff in Jun, 2023.

Sonos has already spent $350 million since 2019 in stock repurchases. Another 200 million approved by board to meet the EPS and raise shareholder value.

Sonos should focus on employees instead of laying off employees or stock repurchase.

Current reorg is a big circus to get rid of employees.
