The layoffs and those forced out or retired is because of the failure of the subscription model. It is a brand mess which is not on the R&D teams that have been kept around.
The subscription model isn't working. Why? Because of the method of attempting to force customers to renew. Also enough of the acquired software is full of bugs. They have yet to acknowledge on the AdRemover site that it's actually part of Alludo.
When customers can only be treated honestly by calling the BBB for help, it's time for new leadership.
