Thread regarding VMware layoffs

RSU Inequality

If you’re a lower level VMware employee getting crumbs for RSUs while higher ups make millions with their RSU allotments you have to wonder why you’d bust your a-s at Broadcom.

This is outrageous financial inequity in action.

Pay attention to the details

Generally speaking C level folks making 100-300x avg employee salary is exactly why we have huge problems relating to economic inequality. It wasn’t always like this. These excesses are morally reprehensible and widespread across every industry.

Is Dan Price still hiring? Not seen him on LinkedIn for a while now.

That’s nothing. What’s come out into the open is the huge disparity across geographies. How a P6 in PaloAlto can command over double the same grade in EMEA is beyond me.
“Market forces”, I know. But it just feels immoral.

So Raghu has been getting a bigger package than me for the last couple of years?

I never realised that's how corporations work til now, thanks for the info.

Shocking. I never knew that the executives and "higher ups" made more money than we do at the bottom. Must be a Broadcom thing. I'm outraged - I'm going to decline my offer and find a job at one of the other tech companies where that's not the case...

you really don't know how capable you are and think you deserve this? If so, you already got big packages in FAANG long time ago rather than staying here with lower pay. lol and shame on you.

take on more responsibility and get paid more. this is how it works in the corporate world. if your peers do not trust you with more responsibility, you need to develop your knowledge and earn their trust first.
