VMware Employees In Ireland

How are we feeling about the acquisition. I might be letting the stress get the better of me but I realized we don't have any core teams based in Ireland right now. We have few support engineers in cork and few engineering folks in dublin but Broadcom had never done any business in Ireland and I'm wondering if they want to? Most of engg and GS is based in APJ and NASA. Its starting to get little unnerving me for me the more I think about it......................

Broadcom has a decent number od employees in Ireland, all remote though. There's no reason to fear about Ireland in general, but they may send you remote of you're chosen to stay. Broadcom is totally not into cool offices. Employees get only one benefit at Broadcom, huge compensation. It more than makes up for everything else.

"In our team in the US only “Senior” levels received the offer."
Did these offers come in today? or yesterday?

In our team in the US only “Senior” levels received the offer. Maybe this is their strategy globally, look at your title and see if it has Senior or not.

Termination letters not before January 31st, IF the deal closes on October 30. Otherwise, later.

Director here.
Majority of GS will be transitioned/offered FTE roles. Some will be impacted though.

Long term Medi Goker will outsource as BC move towards top X high touch model. She was brought in for this specific activity.

For those impacted (I don't know fate of other BUs) it will be Xmas before anyone sees severance with consultation and notice period. That's on assumption deal is not delayed.
Hope this helps

The way things have been around the office here the past few weeks, there might as well be no ireland already. It's like being at a funeral but nobody is allowed to mention there's a funeral going on.

We're on the last couple of working days now before the deadline, I call complete bs that people don't know any more than we're being told at this stage.
"don't forget to backup personal data because um I don't know, BC might give you a new laptop". Subtle.

We're all just a number at the end of the day. If you keep that in mind it makes this a little easier to understand and accept. Companies don't give a flying f*ck about people, easily replaceable. This whole thing a prime example of that.

If BC succeed which I doubt they will at this stage, Ireland's offices will probably close in 12 months. Too expensive for hock. He is more a quantity over quality kinda guy. Quantity = $$$$$$$.
