VMware Severance policy valid for 1 year post close

Is that accurate? Anyone knows where that is specifically stated?

"That is correct, it is stated in the merger agreement."

There is no merger, it's an acquisition and AVGO is calling all the shots. Understood?

BC already pulled a fast one by dropping people's base salary in violation of the merger agreement terms. VMW is being spineless defending that.

F them all. Don't trust anything they say.

Whether Broadcom is going to pull a "fast one" is yet to be seen. Know your rights!! BC plays VERY dirty with employees they no longer need.

The VMware separation plan clearly lays out that base severance is 2 months and then you get an additional 1 week per year of service up to 12 weeks maximum.

A notice period (where you are on payroll) is NOT severance. Severance is a lumpsum payment paid for severing ties with the company.

The separation plan clearly differentiates this by saying a notice period may be provided where you will be on par with existing employees. Payroll wages during this is NOT severance.

However, the company reserves the right to cancel the notice period and whatever has been paid during the notice period can be deducted from the severance amount. The distinction here is that if the notice period is cancelled then the lumpsum difference has to be paid, you can't be paid through payroll.

I know BC is going to dupe several people into signing agreements to NOT pay the correct amount because they are dirtbags. Get a lawyer to review if needed. You don't have to give in to their cr-p.

BTW, VMW always gave 60 day notice AND the correct severance (2 months base severance + 1 wk/yr of service) during all their past layoffs.

Hock called an executive meeting today, that's why town hall was cancelled.

I haven’t seen that anywhere and seems HIGHLY unlikely.

What close? There won't be a close. That's why the offers have stopped and the town hall was canceled. Hocks dream of completing the current managements destruction of VMware with un sdg communism is over I'm afraid.
