Thread regarding VMware layoffs

No more offers

Don’t expect any offers to come out today or tomorrow. The canceling of the vmw all hands today and the fact that no offers were distributed yesterday speaks volumes.

BC and VMW have doing nothing to calm the markets fears about the deal being delayed.

This is being delayed.

Remember, this is the same “Leadership” that was going to mandate employees get jabbed until the courts halted it. I don’t expect much from them.

Something fishy is going on. There was no reason I can think to cancel a 30 min all hands unless something else is cooking

There are two possibilities:

One, BC believes the deal will be delayed and their waiting until the last second in hopes the PRC can somehow be bribed or coddled so they can still close. In this case, they cancelled the AH because awkward questions would be asked and there are legal and financial implications if they lie (or even if they accidentally tell the truth) and it gets out into the public.

Two, they're aware of how toxic everyone thinks the process has been and they're afraid of losing control of the meeting. There are a lot of people who are frustrated and the C-level folks at VMware aren't good at handling the kind of response they'd be likely to get.

Either way, the fact that it was cancelled and not rescheduled speaks volumes about how much they really care about EPIC2 values. Which is to say, less than none at all. Not that I ever believed that nonsense--I've worked in tech long enough to know not to drink the kool aid.

Cancelling the employee All Hands meeting was inevitable, given the latest news.

Hock and his team must be revisiting their list of 'next step' options. This acquisition is an unwanted distraction for the AVGO core business. How can they recover from this mess?

The cancelled All Hands certainly is implying confusion and turmoil within.

Definitely not inspiring confidence.

"Cancellation of the meeting is very disappointing. Why would they do that?"

There is no easy way to put a positive spin on the current crisis. There is no Plan B.

Cancellation of the meeting is very disappointing. Why would they do that? It was an opportunity for a last all employee town hall and everyone was looking forward to it. This comes across as insensitive.

Rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic does not mean its not going to sink. Its over and they all know it. The cowards in management are keeping it to themselves as per usual. I look forward to the fallout after November 26th when they get canned with no severance and especially magoo, Betsy and medi.

It was pushed back an hour, then canceled outright.

It’s not canceled, it’s pushed back by 1 hour.
