Shell (SHEL) will lay off about 15% of the workforce in its low-carbon solutions division and reduce its hydrogen business, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the oil and gas company.
Shell will eliminate 200 jobs next year and is reviewing another 130 positions as part of an effort to reduce the headcount in the division, which has about 1,300 employees, the report said, citing the company's response to a query from Reuters.
Some of these positions will be integrated into other parts of Shell, which employs more than 90,000 people, the report added.
Shell plans to sharply reduce its hydrogen light mobility unit, which is part of the low-carbon solutions division and will merge two of the unit's four general manager roles, the report said.
