You don't know that all the offers are out. You can't know that. Why in the world are you torturing yourself with all the doom and gloom about being ignored? You don't know that's the case! I swear, some of you people love to be miserable for the sake of being miserable.

@fvq Please don't give up. You are so much more than your job, and while it might not seem so right now, you will be okay in the end whatever happens here.
Please contact https://988lifeline.org/ if you ever feel like that.
Joined VMware in the year the acquisition was going to close and now thinks it might be a nightmare - doesn't make any sense, you knew what might happen.
@fvq+1pfwpeNx please don’t even think that. You have more going on than a job. Layoffs are very common. You will pick yourself up and land a much better one. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m praying for you.
@fvq+1pfwpeNx - OMG please dont do that. You are more than a job. You will find another job. This is just a valley, you will have more peaks along the way.
People have reason to panic and be concerned. Stop acting like you're above it and better than other people. If that was the case you wouldn't be on this site.
this will be potentially my 2nd time getting laid off this year. The reason i took the vmware job is because i had nothing outside and now my nightmare might happen again..........this su-ks i might end myself
There are three categories of people who stayed in vmware: ones who are confident they would get an offer, ones who are okay to take severance and finally the ones who were not able to find job outside either due to skills or wish full thinking. The lasts ones are the one panicking. BTW, I fully expect to get fired being in operations and I am okay with it.
I find it ..... interesting how a LOT - in fact the majority of people I know in my department, have been sitting on their hands for 18 months and last minute they 'suddenly' start panicking and realise 'oops, I may lose my job'.
If you haven't realised 18 months ago that the acquisition may cost you your job - then you can't be helped.
And no, don't use 'but china won't approve' as lifeline .... redundancies happen, with or without bcom.
