I thought Canadians couldn't receive offers until after the closing date? I got my offer today. Hoping I'm not getting scammed!

I'm in Canada and many of my peers got one this morning, but not all - specifically the ones in the CMBU. Our management had told us that it would be sent to our personal e-mail address, and that because of our local laws may prohibit it, we may not get our letter until next week, but I got mine at my VMware address and I too was a bit skeptical that it might be a phishing attempt, but it was not. Seeing as this is mainly a letter of intent with it being contingent on the deal closing, which it even says is not guaranteed to not be delayed or even happen at all, I'm guessing Broadcom felt it was safe to send out now so long as the caveats were spelled out.
Because every country has their own labor laws. The rest of world is not the United States and has employment protection.
Not sure why you believe it would be different?
