Just because Broadcom do not have an office doesn’t mean South American offices will close. They could use it as a platform for market entry for their products. Plus Broadcom plan to take on the VMware name so that also supports the operation’s remaining . I hope it does for everyone’s sake.
Costa Rica, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and part of Brazil.
By that logic the Irish sites would be closing as well.
Broadcom does not have any offices in central/South America.
They are not going to suddenly start the trend. All central/South American locations can be expected to shut down sooner rather than later.
It’s a small country and have confirmation from 2 separate sources: real estate is leased and they have been given notice. My friend is a paralegal at the law office that VMware is a client: they’re preparing letters in the hundreds
Haven't seen anything official about this so presuming this is just rumour at the minute.
To those who are posting - speculation or you have confirmation that this is true (CR closing).
Shame, really. A very cost effective site for the quality of work product and time zone parity. It seems BC wants to bare bones the operation, not really looking at the cost/benefit
50% layoff on Day 1 and site fully closed within 6 months
Colleagues of mine in CR have been saying this for a while.
People will only get one of two options: layoff or transition
What's this based on? How do you know it's being shut down?
Just the first of many...
