They’re still laying off more people as of today. This is crazy

On Wednesday and Friday they "terminated" recruiters in each office for "performance issues" even though they were not on PIP plans, verbal warnings or documented warnings...

Laughed so hard when someone got Karma thrown at them in the last layoff, she got a taste of her own medicine.

What positions do they consider to be “support” positions?
Do you know how they found this info out?
And are the layoffs only at Medical Solutions or Host Healthcare as well?

Layoffs will continue until all support positions are overseas.

Layoffs today at host healthcare. No warning, as soon as we logged on we had a meeting put on our calendar- aptly named “touch base”

Not surprised there were more layoffs. I was part of the first round and knew more would be coming. This company clearly doesn't know what they're doing and lied about everything.

CFO dipped but made sure to stay long enough for all those paid holidays. Must be nice. Guess paying out all that unemployment was cheaper than paying the laid off staff their well earned holidays prior to being let go. I truly want to know how Craig sleeps at night, because he deserves to on a cold metal bunk bed with a shared toilet 2” away with no conjugals. Know what I mean. This experience has made so spiteful I’m convinced “MedSoul” came from literally soul su-king their employees heartless.

Looks like Dan Shedivy is out. I wonder if he volunteered to fall on the sword or if he's the scapegoat.

Too bad they didn't fire Amber Ireland, who has no idea what she is doing.

Does not surprise me they are hiring again. I am guessing the wage they are hiring at is less than they were paying the people laid off.

I saw this and just had to laugh. You layoff 10% of the company and roughly a month later are looking to fill positions...

My severance was taxed at 34.6%. Ridiculous. I can only hope I come out ahead on my taxes for this year. JERKS! So glad to be away from this toxic company. THEY SU-K! Already moved on to greener pastures.

The job transition people contact me nonstop as well. Imagine getting laid off then harassed every other day. You block one number and they call from another. Do they even help people lol

Anybody else getting repeated calls and emails from this Challenger, Gray, and Christmas? I've unsubscribed, and told them I'm not interested, but they keep calling. GO AWAY. It's almost spam-like at this point.

My severance was taxed at 30%. They took nearly $1000. I was not prepared for that emotional trauma at 5 am.

Severance pay is considered ‘supplemental’ it gets taxed at 22%. That’s why it seems you have lost $$ out of your pocket. Severance isn’t considered wages. It’s taxed like a bonus.

There is a 22% federal supplemental wage tax that is taken from your severance.

I received my “severance pay “ and had to reach out to whoever sent the original agreement because I was shorted about $200. I came here to see if it happened to anyone else. Wonder what that is about. I returned what they requested and signed the agreement. So what happens now ? If they don’t complete their side of the agreement I’d assume it’s null and void and we can file a claim if necessary.

I feel like I've kept my cool and have been respectful to the company throughout all of this. However, I don't believe I have received the same respect. My bank tends to do early payday payments, so I received my severance already... It's short $506.12!!!! I'm beyond pi---d and well past being nice. Was it not bad enough that we got laid off with no warning, unable to complete the day, get paid for only one work week, leave us obligated to sign a severance package that takes away our rights and not even get paid the full severance amount?! This place is a joke! Even after being laid off, I refrained from speaking badly about Medical Solutions but sadly, they've shown their true colors and have established that they're not any better than other big corrupt corporations.

Yes, the managers are following some kind of protocol. I was shunned by my manager the same day. Super cold in response. I hope they love their job now with having to work in the weeds and train C&A staff. What a sh!t show. I’d be hesitant to ask for a reference unless you had a great relationship. Guess me speaking up didn’t help me when it came time for the chopping block. Shame on me for actually having moral values that stopped aligning with this toxic management. They sold their MedSoulsfor $$. These people I used to look up to su-k.

@fvaj+1pfCESOG My unemployment says the same thing. I'm wondering if it has to do with the claim weeks. My weeks were set from 10/22-10/29, so I had to put that I was working 10/23-10/24. I also put that I am working with Challenger, Gray & Christmas (Idk if you added that info) instead of a CareerSource Center like they would like ppl to do. I'm guessing they might take longer to verify that info. I just hope no one gets denied... this is rough. Hopefully this helped a little or maybe not at all... Lol

How/why are some of the comments being deleted? There was one from a couple days ago but it’s gone now. No names/locations were mentioned so I am confused as to what flags a comment for deletion.

also I thought the OP was the only one who can delete?

So my unemployment claim has a pending issue on it still. I was still able to request my first two weeks pay but the message says there will be a delay in payment until the issue is resolved. Anyone have any information on this pending issue? I know I’ve heard others say there’s had the same message in their claim status as well…

Any info is appreciated, we already have to wait until they decide to declare they’ve recueived the equipment back prior to dispensing severance, now this! I know it’s not much but this has been a long 2 weeks with no income. We’re at a point now where we’ve had to look into registering at a food bank and our local church for their rental assistance program. This in addition to having to go on unemployment have not helped psychologically and I’m not sure if I can handle another hoop to jump through.

I got my boxes 11/2 but they’re pretty big and bulky so still in the way. Have to call fedex to have them pick them up. I’m ready for all reminders of this company to be out of my house. I got rid of anything I had with the medical solutions logo bc it was making me feel nothing but bitter resentment. Such a shame bc I used to be so proud to be part of it.

If they don’t send me these boxes to return the computers ASAP, I’m selling them to recoup my time and add a little more to my severance. It’s in the way.

@dyzh+1pfCESOG you should go to Fidelity's website & cash out your 401k. I was told by MedSol that the severance payment won't be paid until 11/17 due to the 7 day waiting period after signing & the next payroll date. It is so frustrating that they expect us to wait almost an entire month to get that pay, I am not sure how anyone is surviving right now!

Although I understand it's actually quite easy to find another job, it is not easy to find another job without taking a pay cut. Getting paid $21 with MedSol had it's own struggles, I can't even imagine going down to $16-$18 an hour especially when rent has gone up and I pay $1925. Not including food, house/hygiene items and bills. Even as someone who is educated with a degree, all jobs are starting at $18 hrly, that's barely enough to make rent. I've been trying so hard not to go into "panic mode". I signed the severance the week of the lay off but the money still hasn't come in. Not to mention, MedSol could've at l least paid us the full week of the lay off. I'm hanging on to $130 til my severance kicks in, whenever that will be! Has anyone received their severance?

@cesf+1pfCESOG sounds like it’s coming straight from the CEOs mouth or possibly a team lead drinking the med sol koolaid lol would have been nice to hear in the “touch base” meeting a couple weeks back. To everyone that’s been laid off, please see this as a blessing in disguise. There are plenty of companies out there that operate with integrity and will show empathy. How much emotional intelligence could YOU possibly have to hop on a thread where people come to openly vent about losing their livelihood just so you can stand on your soapbox? I would imagine that you would have more to do with your Sunday afternoon than to come to this thread with your pompous comments. I hear everyone’s workload has doubled??? Possibly tripled?? Enjoy your job while it lasts. Im sure you’ll be on the chopping block next.

Not all the people let go were “talented” or “fit the culture” and that’s a fact. In fact, as stated here, there are many more who didn’t get cut that are not talented or as productive, yet they fit the “culture”. RIFs are done methodically, if you are a lower performing person or someone who has had “issues” during your time at the company, look no further than the mirror. It’s a hard truth to face I’m certain. If you don’t fit in and are a strong worker you have a high likelihood of being cut before someone who is a lower production person who does. May not make since to you, but the decision wasn’t up to you, it was up to the people in charge of keeping the company going for the thousands of remaining employees which includes the travelers. Show some emotional intelligence and stop blaming others for what happens to you. Pick yourself up, find another job, and drive on forward.

@atqq+1pfCESOG departments under the VP of Operations (compliance/onboarding, housing, etc) laid off 101 people

I did consult an attorney. If Med Sol broke laws signing the severance does not indemnify them from being liable. Sign your severance. I do know each person laid off had a total for their dept. Someone from each dept. needs to put their total on here so we can figure the total number or the percent. It will not be hard to figure out. Keep your chins up. We will move on to much bigger things.
