The job page is all you need to look at to understand why. All Apache is hiring for are “business change analysts” and accountants that’s almost all it is. Does the company even know what it produces any more?

Keep in mind that New Ventures team that recommended Suriname is all gone or fired

Buyout Apache? To get what?
Some old tired rusted assets on top of depleted reserves across the Permian?!?!?!?!
Nort Sea time bo-b of rust.
A New Ventures team that never found cr-p (Surname was d-mb luck)!!!!????
Lousy recruitment focused on diversity hires and relatives of other employees, thus no talent!!
A+ legal team that has got us in all these lawsuits?
Facilities team that never was allowed to build the way things should have been built.
HR full of yes-puppets of questionable gender.
Communications team that can only sprinkle sugar on steaming piles of s**t.
No body wants us!!!

The illiterate phrasing of your question may be a big part of it.

A good discovery in Alaska would make it attractive to Conoco

The only reason is that the other companies had better assets. It's not that deep.

What perspective buyer, in their right mind, would want to have to add someone to their BOD????

If you do get bought out (never), none of you will make it at a first class employer.

Hmmm. Maybe the lawsuits, abandonment liability in the GOM and NSea, the political instability in Egypt and the hope of production in Suriname one day … maybe.

Let's see: Forties is a heap of parts just waiting for an accident to happen. Egypt doesn't pay its bills on time and its only gotten worse after Mubarak's ouster. West Texas is underfunded and Suriname has and will remain smoke and mirrors. What's there to like?

No one wants APA-- assets or people. We will spin until the money runs out.

I was hoping cvx would buy Apa as they wanted to enter Suriname and grow in Egypt… no hope :(

Only a 5% premium for Hess. That su-ks. Dream on if you think a buyout would boost APA. We’re screwed.
