Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Percentage of engineering

People are talking about 70% off eventually. And 10/30 are more about hr, legal, finance etc. What about R&D on 10/30? How much percent will be let go?

Even if the deal doesn’t go through Vmware will close a lot of our offices and reduce the number of employees.
Vmware lost so many good resources due to this F… deal.

They'll still do sizable layoffs after the BC walks away due to the China delays.

But it's likely to be a bit more focused rather than blanket all around cuts. First one to bite the dust will likely be Magoo for a more business minded CEO like we should've had originally

You know if the deal for some crazy reason does not happen, then vmware is essentially dead. You cannot be that naive and stupid to think we can survive on our own anymore without chopping just as many people as BC would have.

China blocked the deal and massive layoffs won't happen. Just relax and enjoy the weekends.
