Forced Layoff - Part 2

Andy Jassy,

I'm following up with you after our return-to-office conversation on 10/19/2023. I want to ensure the expectations and next steps are clear. During our discussion, I sought to understand if there are any particular challenges you are experiencing that are keeping you from returning to the office at least three days a week. Based on our discussion, it is my understanding there are not. Instead, you have not complied with Amazon's return to office expectations since our last conversation.

As we discussed, returning to the office at least three days a week is in the best interest of our customers, our company, and our team members. If you do not adhere to this expectation within two weeks 11/02/2023, you will receive formal corrective action. After that time, if you do not meet and maintain sustained compliance with returning to the office at least three days a week, you will be subject to further discipline, up to and including termination of your employment.

If you have any questions or would prefer to work together on solutions that enable you to meet Amazon's return-to-office expectations, please let me know as soon as possible. We'll meet again after two weeks to discuss your progress.

RTO will be the least of your worries soon.

Yes, beyond dysfunctional and toxic. Jassy and Olsavsky have manipulated their net income to be above estimates through the layoff/RTO nonsense (expense reductions). But in the process, they are reaching a point of stagnation where their best talent departs and they are left with the fat - mediocre resources wasting away (and getting large pay cuts from the stock drop). A lot of 'pretend' Managers too - look at all the org chart layers. There are so many other employers that offer better comp and 100% remote work from home benefits. Just open your eyes and say, "I deserve better than Amazon". Repeat again, "I deserve better than Amazon". Great. Now start applying! Also cancel your Prime subscription.

Got laid off in July and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. My health and well being has improved, got paid to leave and am collecting. It was the most toxic and cut throat place I've ever worked and I've been in the tech industry a long time. I feel like I escaped a cult. If you get the opportunity to leave, do so.

Nvidia will also been another U.S. company in the dumpster in 9 years, unless if Uncle Sam prevents the imports of cheaper and probably better Chinese GPUs.

People are not going to flee AWS for GCP, knowing Google's history of shutting down services. Google doesn't need GCP or anything else besides their ads business, which automatically makes AWS better than GCP.

In 9 years, a large number of current Nvidia Engineers will have retired. NV Stock will continue to skyrocket (400% this year!). Definitely not happening for the Amazonian RTO slaves! I'm surprised more Amazonians don't resign. There are so many better options. They get paid far less than at NV and don't get WFH unlike NV. NV has lots of the same or better AI/ML & GenAI tech that Amazon has and AWS is too expensive, so customers will flee to NV cloud and GCP. No point wasting away at Amazon.

In 9 years Amazon and every other "FANG" will be another IBM, a company that no one is interested in working for.

In about 9 more years, Jassy and Selipsky will be 65. Somewhere in between, they'll retire. If Jassy leaves early, Selipsky will take over and continue the RTO folly. Until then, they'll keep doing wrongful terminations (i.e. relocate or leave, drive 4 hours to work or leave). Surprising that no one has sued yet. Bozos is 59 and will sit as chair. Old geysers will be old geysers.
