On this day, almost 1300 employees in CA of the company you founded were let go. The Qualcomm way is long gone.

Are you, OP, referring to the transfer to Ericsson in 1999 when we were essentially coerced into signing the severance plan that caused us to lose our unvested stock options that should have been immediately vested?
Irwin lost the respect of thousands of us in the so called "Infrastructure Division" over that. But hey in the end, he, Dan Sullivan, Rich Sulpizio, Antonio Franklin (deceased) and Andrew Viterbi got filthy rich by reneging the SO Agreement and keeping said stock options in the company. And that's all that matters.
Qualcomm is not the company I joined 20 years ago.
The principles we upheld are gone.
There is no pride anymore, just anxiety waiting for a termination notice.
Some people let go in this last round should have never even been up for consideration. Those picking up extra work are nowhere near as easy to work with or as knowledgeable. My job is now all the more difficult because I’m having to deal with idi_ts.
Nothing lasts forever folks. Googleyness is history too as is the IBM way and the GE way.
Way to go
