Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

Nike going to 4 days a week in office.

We all know adi leaderships mo and copying Nike on these kind of policy decisions. How long before they make this same call. Seems like people barely come in at all now. Would it even make a difference? All the buildings are depressing and empty any day you come in.

Nike will be going back 5 days by June and RTO is for all employees if you’re remote either you return or get your papers

Seems non sensical to change this with the teacher strike, increased workload on individual contributors, increased cost of childcare and transportation, and no succession plan in place. But fearmonger away.

Not sure where OP work, but seems like a line manager query to raise not a location wide call to arms if lacking engagement with direct team on the in office days.

Bjorn is in the office 5/5. Leading by example!

Nike had 3 and 2, same as adi. So they now mandate employees to come in one extra day. We actually had this rule in HQ as long as I’ve been here. The difference now in Nike is there are also rumors that they will call back most remote roles too.

I understand the NAM offices are very often ghost towns. It’s a bit different in HQ, only on Friday does it really feel empty, but that’s not so different to pre-COVID. We have the 3/2 rule, but every team really has very different needs and culture around that. Changing that rule in Germany is much more complicated, since the Works Council really helps to throw a wrench in broad policy changes like that.

Of course, in NAM, the SLT could simply have their own rule, but these things tend to be heavily influenced by the rules at Global.

Is this an increase for the competition from <4 to 4 or a reduction from 5? Interested to understand the context?
