Bringing you yet another episode of the weekend in review, reminding you of all the questions our leaders tolerate (but shouldn’t). Let’s jump to the top 3:
- Our resident slack nitpicker (MT) has a question. She wants to know if we can make layoffs and org changes more accessible because she’s worried for her job. Yes, according to MT, we all absolutely need to hear about the reorg of the desk security team! Being good at our job, working hard, and getting good reviews aren’t the path to job security, it’s monitoring all enterprise org communications! Great idea, MT!
- Anonymous (of course they don’t have the courage to post publicly) has an incomprehensible post about layoffs and poor leadership. It starts off with an understanding that laying off under performers is good, but then strangely says that’s not part of our business strategy, and then circles back around to acknowledging layoffs are good. They then ask what leaders are doing to mitigate damage. Damage from laying off people with unsuccessful ratings? How did you graduate college without the capability of stringing three logically consistent paragraphs together?
- Yet another bellyaching question demanding that executives admit layoffs happen because they permit it to happen. Even though this is clearly obvious, the poster (anonymous again, what a surprise) wants SLT to grovel at employee’s heels and goes on to pretend like no other fortunes 500s are laying people off. They accuse NM and other companies of having below average HR. Compared to what industry experience? The 2 year tour you did at Kohl’s before you planted yourself here for 20 years? The icing on the cake is them asking for SLT to be fired. We can only hope that SLT grows a backbone and extends the favor to you.
And that’s all for this week. Stay tuned for the next episode and let’s all cross our fingers that our leaders answer the questions on the weekend like they need to be answered: truthfully and no patience for idiocy or whining.
