Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

I have been through RIFs several times. Did I let it break me? No. Did I pick myself up and move on? Yes. Don't give these a-holes the satisfaction. Remain silent, do your job and make your plans. Then walk away w/o a backward glance. You may need to leave PA, but I would go anywhere that is not Houston. The real revenge is doing well and carrying on with your life. No one needs this place and no one deserves to be treated this way. It's a job, not your life. Don't stick around until the bitter end that is surely on the horizon. Move on and continue being successful. Never, ever let the b@stards get you down.

I brought Starbucks drinks in for my teammates today. It was from a place of good intention. I really hope deep down they don’t feel the way this person who created this post felt. You don’t know what someone else is going through. When you assume…it makes you look like a donkey.

A bubble? If I company is successful there's no reason for people not to expect to retire from it. That's part of its success. Nothing to do w profit. ??? It happens everywhere. Check the Dow and look at company websites. They crow about it. Someone's living in a bubble all right but it isn't the people that had expected to spend their lives in one good job.

@zik+1paMryjN FYI- I too am impacted by this announcement. I’m not judging simply commenting just like you. I’ve dedicated years to this company and had hopes of retiring as well…and am faced with same choice: Houston or lose my job. But you’re right…attack the person posted something about staying calm and sipping coffee simply because they were trying to be nice.

Did people expect to work at crown their whole lives ? I wish I had the mindset or belief that a company owned by the shareholders whose first priority is profit would care about me. Must be nice living in that bubble.

Hurt people, hurt people. You’re angry at the wrong ones. Be angry at the ones who made it that way, not the people who had families to support. I left because of that and the toxicity that was forming but those were only a group out of thousands of people. Not everyone can just pick up and move because leadership wants them to. They have families to take care of. It is blowing my mind how many people are angry at each other when you should be angry in how it got to this point. Crown wasn’t alway like this.

I have no sympathy for anybody being told to move or lose their jobs. The people who loved Crown the most are the yes men and yes women who bled purple and drank the purple kool aid while putting down everybody who would say that Crown was heading in the wrong direction so many years ago.

So me feel bad for those getting effectively laid off, not on your life.

Who gives a $hit, we can post all the cr-p you want on this form it’s not going to change a Dam Thing!

@ssd+1paMryjN you can’t be serious. A place of “calm”? People have every right to be upset and if venting to their colleagues who are going through the same thing makes it just a little better so they know they aren’t in this alone, who are you to judge? People have spent years at this place and revolved their lives around a company just for a CEO to run it into the ground in a few years with zero empathy. I haven’t worked at Crown for years but I still work with Crown and have people very near to my heart that are affected and I am heartbroken for them knowing how much they believed in this company and wanted to retire here. This market is over saturated with people looking for jobs with all the recent RIFs across the industry. People have been looking for months even years with having to submit numerous applications to be the hundredth applicant on every submittal. So maybe you need to approach this from a place of compassion/ empathy. This is peoples livelihood….

Yes sales has lavish trips every year. Lots and lots of rolexes handed out over the years. Not to mention the weekly bar tabs and hours spent in the gym. Totally polluted with relations that spread all over the company. Really make some amazing power points though.

Can’t forget about the lavish trips to Marco Island every year for sales and their significant others.

People complaining about the bi--hin on this site boggle the mind. People are going through extremely painful, stressful stuff. If venting anonymously on this site gives them some relief - bi--h away. Where is the empathy? Good grief.

Tone deaf? Really? Instead of approaching this from a place of calm, you’d rather complain. Good plan?! Keep that up…Im sure companies will be clamoring for you.
