He sez people closer to the work need to make more of the decisions. Here is a decision Mr V, the engineering dept needs back all the jobs eliminated in the last decade. I keep reading about having a "buffer". Signal and track have No, Zero, None, Nada, of a buffer. Lets hire more people, train them, and rebuild this railroad. Instead of managers constantly harping on maintainers to be available for overtime, instead of bad track causing derailment lets get the proper amount of manpower, train em, and lets rebuild this railroad.

His honesty is refreshing. I do not know him but I felt relieved after the town hall. So tired of the bullsh-t responses from our department leaders. Just tell us the truth. That's all anyone wants. Appreciate your honesty Mr. Vena.

It was easy to pick apart his lies and half-truths.
I wonder if UPS knows their Chicago to Houston Z train is now combined with 50 mph manifest cars. Was this part of the contract in the "service" sold to UPS?
70mph railroad? Laughable
I could go on and on.

It is a good read. Just remember a business is in business not to hire employees. But you need x amount of employees to run a huge company safely
