Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Years of Service extended into Broadcom?

Does anyone know if our service time will be transitioned into broadcom just like what we did with airwatch/pivotal etc... or are we going to get reset to zero?

Just keenly aware of the fact that we may continue to have layoffs post day 1 and want to know that we can still get RIF-ed with our years of service from VMW

Might vary from country to country. Thanks to TUPE us Europeans have our length of service carried over.

In the FAQs shared after the last all hands, there is a question about severance packages and the response says: as part of the merger agreement, we expect broadcom to honor vmware approach to severance payments for terminated employees through a year after close.

It is sort of non commitment language, but sounds like it would at least be considered for up to a year.
