If you got a pay cut it’s likely you were being overpaid.
Based in UK so still waiting for offers to go out. UK employment law works quite differently than in the US so forcing a pay cut is extremely difficult to get away with. Both parties have to consent to contract changes or it can be considered automatically unfair and therefore = £££. I don’t give a toss about working at Broadcom, I’ll stay if the offer is fantastic but I doubt it will be. We don’t get anywhere near the same level of RSUs as US employees and the effective tax rate is huge. I should be gone by end of March at the latest.
Many getting only 68 shares in Australia lol plus management of VMW even at director level are having title loss to something like sales engineers or analysts. It’s a joke lol
Not enough to work for Hock
L6 got serous base cut. 20% ~ 25%.
Many of these comments are wrong. 320 for L5 and 1100 for L6 is accurate for VMware people new to Broadcom. This appears to be higher than what the native Broadcom people get. Possibly causing some tension.
Although the managers are at level 6, they get at-least twice that of engineers at the same level. The company policy is to invest in managers.
320 shares for staff engineers and 1100 shares for staff 2. Does anyone know how many shares for managers and senior managers receive?
Each Broadcom engineer gets 1000 RSUs every year. Managers get 3000 RSUs each year but there are 35 engineers to a manager.
And the vest period is also sweet. It's every 3 months.
If you're working for Broadcom, you're minting some serious cash.
