Our site in Enniscorthy is eerily quiet. We got a number of visitors from the US lately which was a bit unusual. Things don't look but we don't know much. I'm on the floor, one of the newish employees (2 years in January) so stressed out to lose the job as I actually like it. Anyone know anything? I always read the threads here but never anything about peripheral intervention unit?

This is coming from US perspective within PI and I don't have anything fact based but I've been at PI for over 10 years and I can tell you things are changing and wouldn't be surprised if another round of layoffs happen soon.
BD pre-pandemic left PI alone and let them run things the Bard way. The pandemic changed that with interventional segment being hit hard. PI mostly recovered in 2023 but still not up to pre-pendemic levels. Entering into FY2024 and budgets are still being cut even after being extremely cut end of 2023.
On top of that, BD has come down hard on interventional segment to start rolling into the BD way after years of leaving the segment alone. So if your job can be outsourced or be moved to a vendor on a project to project basis, your job is at risk of being cut.
Best thing is try not to stress, yes easier said then done but stress will affect your presence at work. Show up, do good work, make solid relationships with leadership, and stay positive. If your job gets cut, be professional in your exit and ask your manager for a reference.
Have a plan in place if you find yourself job hunting again and don't let your stress burn a bridge with BD.
Best of luck to you.
Stop stressing. It will not change any outcome. If you're happy stay calm, do your job and hope for the best.
