Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Reminiscing about old VMware.

I left the company just weeks before the acquisition closure. The stress of endlessly waiting and the unfolding saga were draining me, and since I found an ideal opportunity with a package I was happy with I wasn't hesitant to resign and transition over. My mind was set to leave VMware behind, and I thought I wouldn't look back - progressing with my new life and challenge.

I've just started training, and one of the instructions for the new hire preparation was to set up mobile device management. Without much thought, I clicked the link. Then, in my inbox was the familiar-looking email.. an email from VMware AirWatch, displaying the old branding logo, with instructions to install Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub on my device. Not gonna lie, I felt a surge of emotion and almost cried.

VMware is still a big presence to me and, like a guardian angel, shows its face to me even in this totally new environment.

I take it you must have been at VMware a long time. You will find once you make one transition after being at a company a long time, the next one is much easier should you decide you need to make another move.

I feel you. Had mixed feelings leaving even though I’m moving on to greener pastures. The VMware of days gone by is hard to replicate
