Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

Is it over?

Has anybody been given more info on layoffs? Do we know if it's over or can we expect more cuts tomorrow? Talk about bad timing to pull something like this. It wouldn't make much difference if they had waited a few weeks and it would mean a lot to employees. Having to deal with something like this right before Christmas is all kinds of wrong.

It’s never going to be over. Customer facing or not ncr does not care. I had couple of colleagues who were supposed to meet a customer same day were let go on Thursday. US employees run while you can….

It’s not over until every desk job is gone to outsourcing. Techs are safe for now, they can hardly keep anyone, have to hire 5 times before you get one to stay any length of time. If they sell the company, you maybe even better off. If you are behind a desk or a remote non customer facing employee, you will be outsourced.

I've heard of layoffs after a merger, but after a split? How could they have too many employees? Maybe Wall St not thrilled with the outcome. A lot of unhappy people today.

The last thing your ask when laid off is a personal email address, the RIF package should be emailed to the personal email that was provided. Read the RIF package carefully, if you have any doubts, talk to a employment lawyer to get advice, they will try to force you to sign within 14 days, if you sign, you sign away your right to dispute it ever, make sure your happy, get advice if needed.

my husband was just let go after 22 years with no warning no explanation. No email no heads up and so far no severance. He's been blocked from email so how does he get ahold of hr?

Anything going on today, seems like any job that can be outsourced will be outsourced. The goal is the global support centres with cheap labor, the brand is doomed, it’s been in a steady nose dive for the past decade or two

It will never be over in the USA. When you were told a few years ago you could be replaced by three or four people in Serbia that is very telling.

US corporate jobs for Ncr will be going away to Serbia, Cebu, Poland, and India.
