"Wouldn't there be antitrust concerns with Vista Evergreen? There are a number of overlaps in EUC and Citrix portfolios.'
Antitrust is typically an issue when a dominant vendor tries to acquire a rival.
Microsft has significantly more market share than Citrix (#2 rank) and VMware (distant #3), so it's not an issue. Besides, combining the installed base of two less capable independent vendors will improve competition with a dominant Microsoft.
Also, Vista and Evergreen have experience combining and right-sizing legacy software vendors. They can ensure that VMW EUC customers get the software maintenance bug fixes and security patches that these apps will need. They can also fund minor feature enhancements, as they did for Citrix.
It’s possible that Horizon is not part of the sale. Antitrust issues resolved.
another tech company is also possible.

Doubtful considering whoever buys them could be a PE firm.
Just hope they honor VMware severance policy when they cut EUC employees.
Shankar said, "We’ll share updates as we have them."
My prediction: he will be pushed out by the new owners.
Note that Vista and Evergreen are the same PE companies that arranged the buyout deal for Citrix, and quickly downsized the operations and headcount in line with the real market opportunity. Enough said...
Vista Evergreen is the one in fact buying EUC. They will make EUC very profitable in no time. Employees are the only ones being affected with so much cut back. Get ready for the roller coster ride. But in fact, much better than being part of ShitCom!
So now the big question is who’s the buyer. Hearing it’s Vista Evergreen
The writing was on the wall I guess. What a shitshow
“VMware to sell all assets except 1 BU”
This is what is best for customers, so amazing! We can’t wait for it all to play out.
Much positive, such amaze!
a buyer has been identified?I guess.
Gotta love the spin there. Makes you want to vomit.
Broadcom completed its acquisition of VMware on November 22, and on December 7 announced its intent to divest the End-User Computing Division.
