Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Severence

Would people be willing to share their severance offers? No need to be exact on numbers, just whether it was 2 weeks per year etc.

I fear we won't get visibility of what the severance package looks like unless we reject the offer, so it's a gamble.

Thanks!

The question of when is only for tax consideration.

Yeah I heard it’s VMWare severance package as well. People say if it were BC package it’s probably not gonna be as good so I decided to leave now than later

What made you fear? They already confirmed severance packages are VMware’s packages

For employee who got severance, have you already got it or it will be at end of 60 days?

US employee here in Palo Alto.

The severance was 2 months (WARN) till Jan 26th. Then 2 months of severance (taking us to March 26th) and then finally 1 week per year of service. For me it was 3 so I’m paid till about mid April.

Large population received or likely to receive retention+ transition+severance and some like me should be content with just severance. What is the logic? Is there a legal ground on how employees are fairly treated during exit

I heard it’s more than the minimum legal requirement? Guess it depends on region too. Some say for redundancy it’s 2mths garden leave + 1 month/per year of service?

It might depend on your location and of course, the local legal requirements.
