Fellow shareholder here. It's true, this site is a waste of time. Go back to work and don't worry about it. There's other people working on it. That's why no one asked, it's being handled. You can go to work now.
I want you to work your a-s off for me
I work for no man
@kkt+1pXaBKag - I am well off and I will be fine even if I don't get a job for another 2-3 yrs. I was talking about lot of folks who will not be fine without any fault of their own.
So I don't need a hug. What I need this - I want you to shut the fu-k up and stop wasting your time on this website or Blind and I want you to work your a-s off for me. Since I am now a shareholder of AVGO. I need that stock to go up. And if I sell it wont make any big difference to the price. But there is another a--hole who is a bigger a--hole than Hock and who now owns probably most number of shares of AVGO. If he became unhappy that all you Hock fanboys are wasting your time here, specially during business hrs, then he will start selling and that will take the stock back to $500.
So now get back to work and keep the stock up for all the laid off people who are also now the shareholders. You work for us now.
I recall hearing an estimate $1.5 billion on those transition costs. That’s a lot of layoffs (among other charges). Wall Street doesn’t think about layoffs, although in general they like them.
VMware was profitable before. It wasn’t managed for maximum profitability but it made plenty of money while providing a high quality product and a lot of good jobs in the community. What is better overall? That really depends where you sit and how you are incentivized. Will the overall result be better under BC? I don’t think so. Jobs lost, innovation not taken, almost certainly poorer customer service and higher customer costs. This is not really any benefit for society. Imagine if all the companies were bought up by people like Hock Tan? There would go america as we know it. Down the drain.
Hock will rápe VMware

They didn't need to ask specifically about layoffs because ht already implied it. When they asked about the plan to improve profitability for vmw after year 1 he responded that would improve after they finished paying transition costs. The bankers understood those transition costs to include layoff packages. They didn't have to follow up on numbers of people to be laid off because they were satisfied that it would be enough to boost profits.
