I got a great offer but when I did a bit more research into the company I noticed they had layoffs six months ago. That's the only red flag I could find, everything else seems great (compensation, benefits, culture...). I'm not sure what to do. Is it smart to join a company that recently had layoffs?

Avoid Citrix / CSG at all cost. I
What company could possibly have more red flags than this one?? Wherever you go, it has to be an improvement. Do it !
By "all companies have layoffs", I didn't mean Citrix is just like everyone else. I meant, don't turn down a good job offer just because the new company had some layoffs, because layoffs are everywhere. Citrix is a disaster and TK is a monster.
The red flag isn't the layoffs, those have been happening no less than annually for quite awhile. We've had 3 or 4 rounds of layoff, no wait it's calibration this year. It was refactor/rebalance last year. Anyway the red flag is the stacked ranking with mandatory minimum 10% for all managers.
Every year you have a 10% chance to 1. only get 50% of the bonus they dangle in front of you and 2. be laid off. The only way to combat that is to ingratiate yourself with your manager early and often. Your team members will hate you but that makes competing against them slightly easier.
Make sure you like that salary. You're unlikely to see any meaningful increases, and promotions are limited to 5% across the entire company. The CEO needs to authorize any promotions. All your manager can do is recommend you.
Don't hate the player hate the game.
All companies have layoffs.
All tech companies made layoffs during the last year .. This is life you just need to make your decision
