Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

TDC is $43.25/ sh -6+% on 2x+ daily vol - ELT insider selling? Bad news ahead?

TDC share price is $43.25, down more than 6% on over twice daily volume.

NC and SB sold shares? or other ELT cashing out?

Institutional investors catching on to the charade? It is about time.

Even at the lower price, it is still at a 70+ PE ratio. Stock is over valued.

Is it wrong that I find psychological comfort reading these messages but not when I talk to my TD boss? How fu---d yo this must be?

Umm... Didn't Teradata recently move away from Perpetual Sales and into Subscription / ARR Sales because big individual sales were causing lumpy revenue streams?

Now ELT is saying that revenue is down because of one delayed Sale?

Sorry this is not how it works. Even if the deal was to close next quarter if it was an ARR deal it would be spread out over the next 3 years. (Unless ELT is planning to count this as a perpetual deal with all the revenue accounted for in Q1 2024)

Something doesn't add up.

Shows how messed up the business model is when one customer can derail your revenue guidance. TDC is projecting a measly 6% ARR growth and can’t even hit that. Pitiful. Compare TDC to Snowflake and Databricks and you’ll see how sad this situation is. If you are still working there ask yourself why?

The last argument is out of CB snd SM hands that the strategy is working and that it has market's support... can't wait what they come up in the next company call

It will continue to be marched downwards as the market is now catching onto where the company is heading.

Teradata still relies on mega deals to get itself across the line each year. But as customers are cutting back on spending and no new logos are being added, it becomes increasingly difficult to cover the degradation of the business

CFO announced a delay in a "major" deal into 2024, guided Q4 lower as a result. Curious which customer would be betting heavily on this troubled company, but a win is a win even if delayed.
