I took the leap a few months ago and I've been much happier and my mental health has improved significantly. I have a great job with an amazing boss and great coworkers. It pays a little less but the overall change makes it well worth it. If you are as unhappy as I was at Coupa, know that the grass really is greener elsewhere.

When I jumped out of the business I was worried there may be too much gold in my parachute and it would weigh me down. Boy was I wrong, the parachute worked great, must have been all those shares I sold in 2022! As my parachute started to descend I realized I was right over top Yankee Stadium, what luck! The Coupa / Yankees sponsorship still has two years left and that corporate suite is sweet! Ciao baby!
After I left Coupa I felt like I left a cult that was abusing and gaslighting me. Within days of leaving, years of stress melted away. When I started my new job I couldn’t believe how genuine and nice everyone was. There were no people enforcing self-defeating processes, or HR people with disguised titles like “Coupa University” forcing me to turn my web cam on. It was like I could breathe again! Leaving Coupa 10/10 would highly recommend!
