What has become of CAS, the scalable compute engine slated as the cornerstone for the future of SAS computing in Viya? Where are its original team members now? Are there parallels with the Gopher team?
Hopefully answers here will be a bit more charitable and less dramatic than the Gopher team thread!
The Big German did a brief gig at SingleStore post SAS.
He now is back where he began. Academia. Va Tech.
They saw the Orwellian-Schulz reality which is SAS:
‘If you want a picture of the future, imagine a Lucy pulling the football away at the last moment – forever.’
Otherwise, just like the Gopher team, they're holed up somewhere.
