Tower Health conducts layoffs

On Dec. 5, Tower Health said it laid off 30 employees in an effort to streamline operations, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Additionally, the West Reading, Pa.-based health system also outsourced a number of employees in its information technology department to an external vendor. Those employees are not part of the initial 30-job reduction.

They still keep adding needless “system director jobs” and layers and layers of management. You do not need unit directors for each unit, clinical nurse managers, division directors and sr. Division directors and a Tower Select specialty group float pool of nurses recruited from the ED, maternity and critical care units making 17.00 more an hour only to go back to their home unit that they were working in and pay a director to manage that. That’s a million in cost savings there minimum per year

What is the end game with Tower? Bankruptcy seems to be the only option at this point. Eventually the band-aides will run out.
