FT offers for Australia have been sent out overnight by BC HR in US.
I'm in Australia and I received my letter. There doesn't seem to be an option to take severance. :(
TUPE isn't the reason there is a consultation in many countries, the same consultation process would be happening if VMW had decided to restructure and make a load of roles redundant (with no acquisition)

In Australia, transition and layoff letters went out on Friday night. There are still some people without letters, and waiting, and waiting…
Don’t know about other countries but UK has somethings that’s called TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings) which requires a consultation period before people can get the boot.
That ends Jan 26, so we won’t hear before.
