Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Is anybody still waiting to hear what's in the cards for them?

I know parts of Europe still don't know what's going to happen to them, but what about here? I'm just curious.

I'm in Australia and I received my letter. There doesn't seem to be an option to take severance. :(

TUPE isn't the reason there is a consultation in many countries, the same consultation process would be happening if VMW had decided to restructure and make a load of roles redundant (with no acquisition)

In Australia, transition and layoff letters went out on Friday night. There are still some people without letters, and waiting, and waiting…

Don’t know about other countries but UK has somethings that’s called TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings) which requires a consultation period before people can get the boot.

That ends Jan 26, so we won’t hear before.
