"I too really like the NI campus! When will we get more news?" Oh, you're going to find out soon enough sweets. As soon as I figure out who to blame for last quarter.
I too really like the NI campus!
When will we get more news?
I sure do like the NI Austin campus….
“ The severance package IS NEGOTIABLE. Many expect it’s not and don’t even try. … It was three years ago for me at NI and I don’t know how Emerson in the equation changes things, ”. You don’t know WTF you are talking about. A lot has changed in 3yrs and the acquisition further complicates the situation.
The severance package IS NEGOTIABLE. Many expect it’s not and don’t even try. I was able to significantly increase my package after two rounds of negotiations and I’ve guided others who’ve been successful as well. You have to be confident and present a good case with hard data. It was three years ago for me at NI and I don’t know how Emerson in the equation changes things, but you won’t know unless you try.
My division was shut down after Dr. T left. I see one of the people instrumental (no pun intended) in that round of layoffs is now being... laid off.
For the rest of you, I feel you. I suspect you're going to land in a happier place. Especially if your first job was at NI.
“ That’s exactly how it works. Everything is negotiable to get you to sign the paperwork. ”. Tell me YOU don’t work at NI without telling me you don’t work at NI.
There is no room for negotiation here. Don’t believe this imposter.
“Uuuhhhh, there’s no negotiating your layoff exit terms. That’s not how this works.“
That’s exactly how it works. Everything is negotiable to get you to sign the paperwork. HR is under the g-n to get you off the books ASAP. Take your time, ask lots of questions, get a lawyer, and push every boundary: last day, payment dates, severance amounts, company phone, recommendation letter, bonus, unused vacation, etc.
Unless you’re being fired for poor performance, NI needs to lessen the damage they are inflicting on you due to no fault of your own,
“What’s the severance packages like , could anyone share so that we are more aware while negotiating terms with HR.“
Uuuhhhh, there’s no negotiating your layoff exit terms. That’s not how this works.
What’s the severance packages like , could anyone share so that we are more aware while negotiating terms with HR.
What departments were impacted on Dec 7th?
Any official announcement about February 2024 layoff??
Another round of workforce reduction is planned for Feb 2024. Get out!
What’s severance package?
Well I got the ax. I don't know what departments were affected. No idea how many people were affected either.
Class Action Alleges National Instruments (NATI) Induced Investors to Sell Stock at Deflated Prices by Concealing Emerson’s Take Over Bids-Hagens Berman
Lolololololololol
Does anyone have any idea what units were affected today
No one mentioned NDA's in the prior round.
Awfully quiet in here. Did they require NDAs?
what departments/functions/locations were notified today?
I will thoroughly enjoy watching EMR choke on, and regret, the purchase of NI.
Didn’t U2 have a song, “Thursday, bloody Thursday”? Thanks for your hard work and allowing me to blame you for my shortcomings. I’ll be alright with my golden parachute just like past failed leaders.
Doesnt look like there are any high profile layoffs this time around...
Today is the day?
Do not expect that it is just going to be about layoffs here and there.
There are talks about entire site closures, but due to local regulations, they will not be annonced this friday. Think sites that do not bear a specific area of competence and which are not in a low cost geo (typically western Europe)
Q1 2024 will from that point of view be very interesting to follow.
I don't think Ritu knows what she is doing.
Stay focused! Everything is fine. EMR and NI value our hard working employees.
No we won't. They will not tell us how many. They will just silently lay off hardworking loyal employees to make up for managements shortcomings.
