laying off and redeploying with no severance pay now
One of the advantages of working at Optum is that, due to certain inefficiencies, it is possible to hold a second job while being employed there. While Optum may have some organizational challenges, this can be viewed as an opportunity for employees to supplement their income by working a second job, while they are simultaneously working at Optum Circle. Part time healthcare consultants are paid well, especially those inside Optum.

For me it works just fine, more than I could ever expect from an anon forum to be. I guess some trolling and hr cheerleading is inevitable, but it's not like it's tough to spot those kind of posts.
A random post about certain thing (i.e. layoffs) happening on a certain date with no other relevant info in it specially if nobody in replies expands on it. - chances are it's just trolling.
On the other hand, if a topic makes sense and all of the sudden a bunch of people are discussing it on various threads, it's likely it's true.
I’m now a happy ex-employee and I agree this site has lost some credibility. But mostly because of the HR trolls which spread misinformation on this site instead doing their jobs. Anyone at level 28 or higher with job responsibilities that give insight know that laws are being broken. Why not do your job as HR and train management to develop some management dimensions instead of trolling here? All the outsourcing and ageism along with all the cronyism in this place makes it toxic and a sh-t hole to work in, the staff turnover rate is proof of that. I will do everything in my power to make sure UHG gets no more business from me or anyone I can influence. This corporation is un-American and it’s leadership is un-American, I will be spreading the word and anyone who agrees with me should too!

This site has lost all credibility with all the ex-employees posting BS. Please go find some employment and put your efforts there. It works.
I got emails from offshore recruiters for openings at Optum as a contractor. But with my experience, they don't move your resume forward, they just send emails. They either already have placed someone there or they will claim they tried to find someone and couldn't so had to bring someone from offshore.
The evil of corrupt money, lining pockets runs high up the food chain and doesn’t stop there. As much as they track and trace your url everyday you would think they know the labor that is being performed (should say would care) but increasing revenue, advancing A1 technology ahead of the competition, and outsourcing all that is possible are the high priorities. It’s for profit and if you look into the leadership hierarchy which there MANY layers of unnecessary top heavy Chiefs at Optum and United which are heavy in pharmaceutical and where there is less profit in CMS is pushed pursue greater profit in other products.

Profits are on the highest level than market estimate but still these big fish are laying off employees during holiday time. Such a trash company , i mean atleast have the employees celebrate holidays nicely. The big fish executives - Can you atleast cut some of ur bonuses so the employee who worked hard to make the company shine can have bright holiday too ??
