VCPP and Core Discounts to be cut back

VCF prices to drop in first year to convince more customers to adopt. Then prices will climb sharply.

Customers relying on substantial discounts will see those cancelled or reduced to a maximum of 10%.

VCPP points consumption costs to sky-rocket in late 2024.

I've heard something very similar to this in recent days in two separate meetings. Not sure about the VCPP stuff but I did hear about discounts disappearing for customers who have enjoyed reductions for many years who might get a shock come renewal time. But I have not seen any new official pricing guidance yet so don't know if any of this price hike stuff is real.

I don’t think anyone from VMW cares as long as they get to keep their job. Isn’t charging as much as you can get away with just sound business practice anyway?

Since you’re talking vcpp points going forward, I’ll assume you have no idea what you are talking about.

I spoke with a customer recently who are about to bet big on VMware for their next strategic venture and I just know they are going to struggle once the price hikes kick in. I feel kinda sorry for the guys signing off on the project because they will be the ones to get it in neck when their profit runs at a loss.

"Please explain how bc can have a ROI by decreasing the prices ? "

It's called "elasticity of demand." It's a ratio. If you decrease prices how much more do customers buy and if you increase prices how much less to they buy? The question is how sticky is the product. You can be sure that customers will move away over time as prices go up.

Tripling the per core prices, rather!
