Thread regarding VMware layoffs

WFH is NOT a benefit…

stand your ground. Unite and you will prevail. Don’t let a CEO or manager tell you otherwise. Build up a strong unity.HT is scare to lose talent and the VMware deal has caused a lot of sleepless nights. Now it’s time to come together and get groups globally and teach him that he is job as a CEO is to be a servant for his people.

Believe me when I tell you he is having buyers remorse, as there has already been a lot of push back on policies by higher up leadership from VMware.

The key now is to Unite. Create a channel of communication (not official to Broadcom) and start working as a team.

This site is filled by haters and trolls that want to promote hate and negativity. Do not fall for that trap.

If eveone is on the same page starting tomorrow and decline to RTO, new policies will cascade. There is already a plan in place by BC and it is not to fired anyone. They NEED the talent and cannot afford to lose any more money with this acquisition. They will let everyone work from home most of the week. Do expect to be in office once per week.

The shift towards remote work as the new norm is propelled by several factors. Technological advancements have facilitated seamless communication, collaboration, and task management, making it feasible for employees to work from the comfort of their homes. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this trend, prompting organizations to reassess traditional work models. Remote work is increasingly viewed not merely as a benefit but as an entitlement due to its positive impact on work-life balance, mental health, and overall job satisfaction. It reflects a growing recognition that flexibility in work arrangements is crucial for employee well-being and productivity, making it an essential aspect of a modern work culture.

Unity you will conquer.

Piece of advice if you want to take it. BRCM went through a return to work phase when COVID ended. A lot of voices tried to convince management the new way is 3 on / 2 off days. Went nowhere. You want to be on less than 5d a week? Find another job. Those who couldn't return to work after having spent 1 year working from their lake house in Wisconsin, got marginalized. No-one will miss you. I guarantee you, your colleagues can more than cover for you. Regardless of what you do.

You're talking to a crowd of 20 and thinking you'll influence 30,000 employees. Many of which are okay with RTO.

They must came prepared, so they disbanded the unofficial channel right after the take over. I believe they have contingency plans for the situation mentioned here as well. People from BC are also looking at this thread.

20 times stock price it is, but this is still pure evil.

If you're truly skilled, opting out of the full-time offer and seeking employment elsewhere, as I did, is a straightforward choice. Broadcom has its own set of regulations and practices that need to be adhered to. If you don't agree with Broadcom's methods and the internal culture doesn't suit you, it's perfectly reasonable to part ways. Take a breather and, if you are indeed skilled, you should be able to secure a fulfilling position in a company whose culture aligns with your preferences within a few months. I don't quite grasp the fuss. Like many others, I waited for the acquisition to finalize to receive my severance and depart from Broadcom. While I have respect for the way they conduct their business and enforce their policies, I recognized that it wasn't the right fit for me, and so I made the decision to move on. I suggest to everyone out there crying out loud about BC to do the same.

Dream on. BC will have to adapt to VMW, not the other way round. And push back by VMW management is fantasy as well. Given the cost income ratio of VMW, they will have to reduce 20-40% of work force and a mutiny would help HT to choose with enough talent left to stay. If the VMW was that good, it would have stopped the perk paradise spending in time before making the company vulnerable to buy out by making it a sh.tstock to its previous owners.

Employees are disorganized and no easy way to be organized, this is their best we-pon against this kind of issue.

So I don't think what you said is gonna happen.

Completely agree! Remember he said on his one man coffee show that he would have reconsidered his RTO policy after Covid if everyone had refused to RTO!
