We were told today that 10% would remain. Biz Ops
People were proud of their estimates that 10-15k would be laid off on Day1. LOL, nowhere even near that number.
Now 10-15k a month in. Then a quarter in. Then a year in.
99 percent. AI and contractors will do the rest.
About eighty percent will be transitioned within the next 12 months. You'll hear a lot of things, but eventually that's where things will end up.
Only high value products and features will be retained. This is the way. All the frills to justify higher prices ESX will be cut as they are expensive to maintain and staff... VMware is a hypervisor company, and a bloody good one. Revenue from SDWAN and AVI will not be justified in the new world.. It's back to basics - back to the business model that made VMWare great, back to 2010. Look at what Broadcom architect has done to Citrix... which has been RTO 5 days a week for some time now btw.
i think 50-60% were already dragging VMW before the acquisition, at least that amt will be gone.
From what I've seen on here the more that are let go the better. ❄️
About half will be gone. Hock Tan said that he will increase margins by $3.8 billion. Divide that by $175,000 average employee cost and you get 21,000. Subtract that from 39,000 and you get 18,000 that are left. That is about 50%.
10-15k most likely.
