It's not a layoff it's technically a firing. Kyndryl has no intention of ever recalling laid off employee's. When you are a white collar office worker. The best terminology should be worker employer separation. Actually it's more like involuntary worker separation. When one hears layoff or laid off. It is mostly in the realm of bargaining unit workers (union). Maybe Kyndryl workers should stop whispering about unionizing. Just do it, you got nothing to lose. Your gonna get laid off anyway. It is inevitable.
Kyndryl needs to reduce its workforce. The sooner the better. This company has to many redundant work positions, to many IBM legacy hirers. I am tired of hearing how the fifty year olds are the target of layoffs and ageism. What a load of bs. Your usually in the majority of kyndryls worker population. The truth is most workers get comfortable in their positions year after year. They never keep their skills updated,or even put in any extra effort to make themselves indispensable in their work roles. So to all the older workers crying foul this is squarely on you. This also a given companies and corporations really do not need as many white collar workers as they use to.
It's not a question will there be layoffs. Almost certainly will be. The correct question will be. Before or after the holiday's ? As well as will it affect American workers. This too is a certainty. My opinion is it will be thru attrition of employees leaving on their own and not being replaced. Kyndryl will then start to knock down the head count.
Oh just a matter of time.
