Why are Intel outsourcing the majority of it's 3nm demand through 2025. This high margin product will be built in Taiwan and they'll realize the lion's share of the product margin??
$14B in potential GDP being outsourced to Taiwan and China???
They are marking up your capacity 30% over Apples, as they don't want to fund a foundry competitor.
Obviously you don't have confidence you can produce 3nm in volume due to 50% lower yields and reliability issues...
The current strategy is very sub optimal and isn't sustainable post 2025.
Someone needs to do some splainin'
Reports from Ronler Acres and Ireland show a complete disconnect between the rhetoric of the executives and the reality on the ground in Oregon and Leixlip. Intel 4 was transferred while not meeting die yield and process capability criteria. The oxide layer module has a Cpk of less than 4 sigma.
The process su-ks at least 600% more power for a given AI work load. Gate Current leakage is the root cause of what will be extreme power consumption at the data centers. Most developers are balking at deploying an Intel solution for the data center customers. 6x+ power consumption equals 6x+ CO2 being generated at the gas or coal turbine facilities.
