Thread regarding TransUnion layoffs

Differences in separation date?

I wanted to see if anyone else believes that the separation date chosen for us is discriminatory/unfair. The separation date seems to have no correlation to our last day/fungibility of our role, nor does it have to do with tenure or position. Something seems fishy here and would appear to be the key to unlocking the scandal.

If there’s interest, I’ll link an anonymous Google forum to collect data while protecting everyone’s privacy. If we can backtrack the demographics of people that were let go, we can piece together what HR is hiding from us.

I was remote and I have a Feb date. And the package says I was tied to the Chicago office.

I know others who were the same as me.

I do feel like there should be some sort of disclosure that explains it.

Texas and California noted to have Jan 5 separation dates as well. Anyone in those states have a date past January?

Yes i feel its discrimination. Employees who were laid off from Chicago have March as separation dates but employees from Denver office have 5th January as separation date.

The question is why wouldn’t all notices be subject to the WARN act in a mass layoff like this?

I have no doubt TU's lawyer army looked over it. To Feb2 on payroll probably due to the 60 day notice required by the WARN act. There is no requirement that you have to be at work, just that you have to get paid.

I have no idea how it was chosen. Me being given a Feb date, I can’t complain too much since that’s a lot better than others but I’d be upset if I was only given till end of Dec and wasn’t here long enough to get an extended severance.
